A provider of shared website hosting and domain registration services, BlueHost Inc., announced that its combined hosting platforms of BlueHost.com and HostMonster.com have surpassed 1,000,000 domains hosted.
With over 1,000,000 domains hosted, headquartered in Orem, Utah, BlueHost and HostMonster, announced they have reached a major milestone in growth. Hosting 425,000 domains in June of 2007 to over 1,000,000 in June of 2008, the companies have seen an explosive amount of growth in the last year. CEO and Founder of BlueHost and HostMonster, Matt Heaton, declared: "When we first started BlueHost, we were really excited to have 50 new customers in our first month. By the end of the first year we had reached 5,000 customers." He added: "During the past year our growth has exploded due to providing superior performance, unmatched customer service, and the best hosting plan in the industry."
Since its launch in December of 2003, BlueHost has grown from its original six-member team to over 230 individuals located in their Orem, UT headquarters. In 2005 HostMonster was spun off from the BlueHost brand to target different markets and help expand the growth of the company. The increased demand for domain registrations from both services led to the creation of the company's ICANN accredited domain registration service FastDomain.com in 2006.
To facilitate future growth including plans to move its headquarters to a new 50,000 sq/ft facility, which will also house a custom 10,000 sq/ft data center, BlueHost, moving forward, has been taking numerous steps. "We want our customers to know we are committed to providing excellent service and support," stated Heaton. "We are already taking steps to prepare for our future growth in order to stay ahead of the game for years to come. This proactive approach is what defines us as a company."
