DV has introduced an Event Trigger Interface Board that can manage up to 128 individual event interrupts onto the Viewstream 200 Digital Media Player for Digital Signage. The interface board, designed originally to demonstrate a large number of individual doorbell tones in a "do it yourself" retail store, can easily be deployed to trigger audio and video events on the ViewStream Digital Media Player. The interface, using a simple contact closure matrix, provides a flexible and inexpensive solution to implementing complex event management.
The interface board is used in Digital Signage applications as well as industrial applications such as small production lines and a car wash where mechanical switch closures trigger events that are presented at a central monitor location. Digital View, in addition to manufacturing a wide range of Digital Media Players, also offers a comprehensive range of standard and custom interfaces such as infra-red controls, motion detectors, touch screens, serial input devices and a wide range of interactive buttons.
With particular attention to size, features, video quality, installation, cost and reliability, the ViewStream 200 Digital Media Player was designed specifically for retail promotion applications. It supports most of the common video and still image media formats with standard outputs.
For brands this means not only a cost effective solution but also the opportunity to implement a system that is more engaging to customers than simply playing video. There are functions such as data logging and reporting, in addition, which tie in with the interactive functions available, allowing for feedback and analysis.
The ViewStream Digital Media Players have been largely successful in the market, and utilized in a wide range of brand promotion projects for products such as mobile phones, cosmetics, toys and luxury goods.
