Plans to roll out residential Internet services in more markets with speeds up to 25 Mbps (megabits per second) this fall, announced by TDS Telecommunications Corp. Being currently available for business customers, this complements super high speed products of up to 1 Gigabit.

Already enjoying 25 Mbps speeds and can expect nearly the entire community to get the service this fall are some select neighborhoods in communities such as Monticello, Minn. and Farragut, Tenn.

Using newer technology within the next 12 months, TDS is actively planning to launch super high Internet speeds in more than 20 communities across the nation.

President and CEO of TDS Telecommunications Corp., Dave Wittwer, stated: "This is an exciting time at TDS for both our customers and our employees". "No one would have thought we could get these residential speeds a few years ago. Today its a reality due to continuous technological advances and strong local and regional networks."

Wittwer says residents should expect prices to be very competitive, while the company says its too early to set pricing.

Wittwer stated: "As communities grow, communication needs change". "Championing economic development is a critical piece of our business strategy and we have the technology, people and expertise to help our communities grow."

Through its brands TDS Telecom and TDS Metrocom, TDS Telecommunications Corp. markets communications services to business and residential customers in 30 states. TDS Telecommunications Corp., with nearly 1.2 million access line equivalents in service, connects customers to phone, broadband, and digital television service in hundreds of rural, suburban, and small metropolitan communities. TDS Telecommunications Corp., headquartered in Madison, Wis., employs approximately 2,700 people.
