Four finalists have been chosen in the contest searching for the nation's most "tuned out" car enthusiasts and vehicle tuners. A new 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 will be given to one lucky car passionate. 18 billion hours are consacrated by Americans to tuning their vehicles annualy, so they are mostly tuning out their looved ones by tuning in their cars.
Vehicle customization has generated a $36.7 billion industry over the last year, everyone being obsessed with personalizing and customizing their vehicles to their own taste. Everything is being customized from minivans to SUVs and family cars. The Dodge brand is in search for a car passionate, that will be given a coll ride without spending so much time on money on tuning. Thus, the most fanatic car enthusiast will be given a new 2008 Dodge Caliber
SRT4. Here are the stories of the four finalists in the contest:
Anthony Baroni of Brentwood, Calif. - He is a "huge car nut", according to his wife Tiffany. A large amount of time is spent by him searching cars online, in magazines and on TV, and has an obsession for the Dodge Caliber SRT4. He even taught his 3-year-old son to say "Mommy, daddy needs a new Dodge."
Zach Madrid of Colorado Springs, Colo. - According to his fiancee Tricia Champagne, he is "completely tuned out ... he's a Mopar freak". He has a passion for cars and customizing, and has a sketch book full of visions, concepts and customized versions of his favorite cars.
Paul Martins of Canton, Mass. - Brenda Posipanko, Martins' girlfriend, considers herself lucky. Her boyfriend is wonderful, faithful and loyal; the only problem is she never sees him. In addition to filling her dining room with a "gazillion assorted car parts," Martins spends all of his free time under the hood of his project car.
David Mayo of Philadelphia, Pa. - All the members of his family are completely neglected, as Mayo spends more time with his car than with them. He's so tuned out his family told him that cars are the reason he's not married. He's addicted to tuning and admits that his current car is killing his social life. If there's a rehab clinic for tuning, Mayo is the first to confess that he needs help.
Users can go online and vote for their favorite finalist athttp://www.DodgeRUTunedOut.com between November 29 and December 10. The judges' scores will be combined with the users' votes in order to establish the results. An all-new 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 will be awarded to the tuner with the highest combined score. Dodge prize package will be given to the person who nominated the grand prize winner, including Dodge gear and a $100 gift card. A Dodge prize package will also be given to the three runners-up, made up of a Dodge gear and a subscription to Mopar magazine.
