Ascom Wireless Solutions recently announced that the Ascom IP-DECT System is approved as a Solutions Incentive Program verified solution with the Cisco Unified Communication Manager. This strengthens Ascom's and Cisco's cooperation and assures wider interoperability of their mutual systems. Cisco has approved Ascom Wireless Solutions as a partner within the Cisco Industry Solutions Partner Network Manufacturing Program.

Ascom's IP-DECT System became SIP Verified with Cisco Unified Communication Manager, version 6.1 in April 2008
. The SIP testing, which demands a 100% pass rate, took place at tekVizion Labs - a third-party testing house in Texas, USA. This SIP verification means that CUCM 6.1 users can now integrate Ascom's IP-DECT System and scale it to their user base - from 10 to 100,000.

"This SIP verification is a reciprocal guarantee that our IP-DECT system functions with Cisco CUCM v6.1.
This gives the CUCM v6.1 user the ability to not only integrate IP-DECT functionality but also to scale it to match their DECT needs now and in the future," stated Staffan Ornbratt, Senior Marketing Manager at Ascom Wireless Solutions.

Ascom’s solutions are known for their modularity, reliability and robust design.
This know-how is now available in an exciting new technology that combines the best of traditional thinking with all the promise of tomorrow – the Ascom IP-DECT system. Ascom is already a member in Cisco's ISPN Healthcare program. These Cisco Solution Partnerships synergise Ascom and Cisco in their expertise to create industry-specific networking solutions.

"With these partnerships, we can give our customers a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts,"
stated Ornbratt. "Synergising Cisco network applications with Ascom's professional messaging portfolio lets us pinpoint a broad technological solution to a specific industry need. Collaborations like this will be increasingly important in the future."

The system enables extended sales opportunities for on-site wireless communication.
For example, IP-DECT enables cost efficient smaller systems, with modularity up to very large installations, feature rich distributed system installations (local office/site) and a wide variety of modern connection possibilities. It is very easy to learn, it consists of just a few plug & play system components, and configuration and maintenance can be made via a web-browser towards the IP-DECT Base stations/IP-DECT Gateway and VoIP gateway.
