Tug of Love, Giselle Lumas' new book, presents the story of a woman determined to find happiness and true love. The book was inspired by the author's own marital problems and  feelings of loneliness.

The book's main character, Deirdre, has two children and is also working. She gradually becomes suspicious of her husband Rick, whom she suspects being unfaithful. As she is continuously rejected by her husband, Deirdre finds herself looking for affection in other places. As she starts spending more time with some work friends, her husband eventually leaves her for another woman. Deirdre is broken-hearted, but finally finds comfort  in the arms of another man, Garret. However, for some reason or another, Rick decides he wants her back just by the time she finally feels comfortable in the arms of another man she has grown to love. Her inner struggle thus begins, as she is unable to make a decision, being torn between her duty as a wife to Rick and her love for the new man in her life, Garret.

But the book's main character finally realizes she cannot be toyed with like that. She realizes her husband has no more rights upon her, given the fact that he has decided to leave her. She finds the strength in her heart to realize that she deserves to be happy, especially after having suffered so much because of her husband.

The author advises couples to spend as much quality time as they can together, as it is highly important in order to sustain a marriage, and she gives this advice from her own experience. People cannot take a marriage for granted, as it takes a lot of effort from both partners to make a marriage work, and not only a marriage, but a relationship after all. Tug of Love comes as a warning to couples that take each other for granted.
