Dutch law firm Trip Advocaten & Notarissen will be using BigHand software for digital dictation, provided by Morningstar Systems. After a short pilot, the law firm decided to roll out BigHand organisation-wide. In the past, Trip tested two other digital dictation solutions, but with too little success to implement them. Then the firm decided to try BigHand, because of the impressive list of references and the competitive price level.
Lawyers will have more possibilities to work irrespective of their location, and secretaries will have a better view of tasks that need completion. Morningstar Systems, specialist in the field of Context Management and Enterprise Content Management, is a supplier in the professional services industry, with solutions in the area of document management, CRM and digital dictation. Morningstar Systems is focused on improving information intensive processes within and between companies.
"We received signals from the market that BigHand was stronger and more stable than the systems we tried before, so we decided to invite Morningstar Systems for a short pilot. We gave them only one month to prove themselves. And they did! We hope to complete the roll out of the system within our organisation by the end of September", says Geert Jan Veldthuis, manager Finance & ICT at Trip Advocaten & Notarissen.
After the pilot secretaries were especially positive about the good quality of sound, the overview of the workload and the easy way of sharing dictations with their colleagues. Lawyers at Trip Advocaten & Notarissen noted that it is a great advantage of BigHand that they can send dictations from anywhere, at any time, to the office-based secretaries.
Veldthuis continued: "Thanks to the BigHand EmailGateway module it is possible for our lawyers to work at home, without our IT department having to equip and support home locations. Via any email account our employees can upload dictations and send them to the office. Until now they had to deliver the tapes to the office. Secretaries receive their tasks more gradually and have a better overview of the workload."
Dries Ausems from Morningstar Systems described: "Within a month we were able to convince Trip Advocaten & Notarissen of BigHand's stability, flexibility and advanced possibilities, although they had been piloting another enterprise digital dictation system for a year. We will make sure that the implementation will be completed by the end of September, so that all Trip branches will soon be able to profit from BigHand."
The connection between structured data sources and unstructured data sources is the main focus. Morningstar developed a number of implementation methods and techniques that are the basis of a new expertise called 'Context Management'. As a certified retailer the company offers high standard applications in the fields of portal construction, document-, records-, workflow- and knowledge management. Besides the professional services industry, Morningstar Systems' clients are active in sectors like petrochemistry, pharmachemistry, and financial services.
