Brocade, a provider of data center networking solutions that help enterprises connect and manage their information, will offer a full lineup of demonstrations and presentations about its innovative data management solutions at next week's Oracle OpenWorld 2007 Conference. Organizations that use Brocade products and services are better able to optimize their IT infrastructures and ensure compliant data management.
The demonstrations at Oracle OpenWorld 2007 will showcase Brocade Storage Area Network directors, Host Bus Adapters, and fabric management software for its Data Center Fabric architecture, which supports industry-leading solutions for the largest, fastest, and most efficient Oracle installations.Brocade has the world's largest installed base of data center networking infrastructure solutions supporting Oracle applications, which are running in thousands of Brocade production environments around the globe.
Brocade will also showcase its Oracle application benchmark results. These benchmarks include the record-breaking TPC-C Online Transaction Processing benchmark, which uses Brocade-supplied HP StorageWorks SAN 4/64 switches. Brocade products are also utilized in the TPC-H Benchmark for a 300-gigabyte data warehouse.
"Businesses are always talking to the IT organization and asking them to enhance their current systems; enhance their Web site; or create new systems, new applications," explains Mendelsohn. "Whenever you make changes like that to your IT infrastructure, you risk stability. The business is also asking the IT people to deliver 24x7 uptime. It's very difficult to balance those two requirements from the business. The big thing we're doing with [Oracle Database] 11g is providing customers with some very interesting tools to help them move their organizations through these periods of change and still maintain the stability of their systems while they make these changes."
"Hardware keeps getting faster and less expensive, and databases keep getting bigger and more complex," says session leader Juan Loaiza, Oracle's senior vice president of systems technology. "Oracle has continued to invest heavily in the areas of performance and scalability and continues to introduce newer and more-powerful technologies for managing extremely large databases. By 2010, we expect to have the first petabyte database in production, and the first database running on more than 1,000 processor cores. The scale of these coming systems is daunting."
Brocade demonstrations at Oracle OpenWorld include:
- In South Hall Booth #1724, Brocade will demonstrate business continuance, disaster recovery, Brocade Access Gateway, security, and HBA solutions.
- In the Upper Lobby "Inside Innovation" area, Brocade will conduct a live power consumption demonstration, showcasing Brocade's commitment to providing high-performance, low-energy data management solutions. Because of its energy efficiency, the Brocade 48000 Director has been selected as an Eco-Friendly Product in the Inside Innovation Showcase at Oracle OpenWorld 2007.
