Puzzle games are taken to a whole new level with Shock Blocks, the new puzzle game for mobile phones launched by Vivendi Games Mobile, a division of Vivendi Games. The classic puzzle game is thus given a twist, allowing players to shake, rotate and flip their puzzle board to manipulate the blocks and solve a series of mind-blowing puzzles. Shock Blocks is now available on mobile phones throughout North America.
Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile, said: "Shock Blocks takes mobile gaming to the next level by incorporating the revolutionary element of movement that most players have never before experienced on a handset. Adding the unique feature of rotational gravity makes this game a first-of-its-kind for mobile phones and we are sure this game will appeal to anyone looking for a quick fix of fun to those looking for a more challenging strategy."
At the same time with the Shock Blocks mobile game launch, Vivendi Games Mobile through a sponsorship on VH1.com will unveil interactive elements on the site with features including a trivia quiz, "The Most Shocking Celebrity Moments of 2007," and a link to the free online demo of the Shock Blocks mobile game. Gravity is the main element used by players in the new Shock Blocks for mobile. The field can thus be cleared of blocks, allowing players to move the board in five different ways. The blocks respond accordingly, moving to rest in their new positions, where a match of three or more blocks of the same color clears those blocks, either in a straight line or L-shape. Players can choose to play in two unique modes. In Puzzle mode, the number of moves players can make to clear all the blocks and complete levels are limited. In Arcade mode, players are allowed to freely move the board and discover special bonuses. As the levels progress, the game becomes more complicated and players must clear more blocks and a larger variety of colors, testing their wits with special blocks including bombs, weights and timers, across 41 challenging levels.
