A free comparison-shopping online service that helps consumers connect their television service, ConnectMyTelevision.com, is sharing the benefits of having a digital video recorder (DVR). It is important for consumers to understand all of the options available to them, with digital delivery on the rise as well as the future end of traditional analog broadcasting.

Having the means to organize a schedule is a valuable commodity for the household on the go. The great thing about a DVR, a relatively new television technology that is able to record programming onto a hard drive, is that it allows consumers to control their schedules in a way that makes life simpler. Consumers with a DVR, don't have to decide between which two shows to watch or worry about missing the game-winning touchdown. It helps users, in addition, to get the most out of their current cable television package.

Why folks should sign up for DVR service is shown in the top four reasons listed below:

    * Convenience - A DVR allows consumers to take control of their schedule. DVR makes it so that programming is watched at a consumer's convenience, rather than planning an evening around a sporting event or favorite show. The need for a DVR rises, with more and more great programming available.
    * No Tapes - A tape is required with a VCR, but a DVR records shows on a hard drive, so there's no chance of accidentally taping over that treasured wedding video anymore. The DVR recordings will continue to be at a much higher quality than a consumer would get from an analog VCR connection, as television continues to move into the digital age.
    * Play with Live TV - Consumers can rewind, pause, fast forward and replay a live show. For those incredible plays during a game that must be seen twice to believe the rewind feature is perfect. Plus, consumers can actually pause their programming to open the door and answer the phone, or check to see if dinner has finished cooking.
    * Watch and Record - People can record up to 3 shows while watching another show. The number of programs that folks can record varies by the communications company and the DVR model they provide.
