The first online video game that allows players to turn in-game winnings into real-life support for Green causes is called Glupod.

What better time to do something fun and easy that will reduce carbon emissions, with Earth Day, April 22, being just round the corner?

How? Get your friends to sign up for the new Glupod Facebook application at http://apps.facebook.com/glupods/ to earn Glupods, which are characters from a new online game with the same name.

Allowing Facebook users to earn an unlimited number of free Glupod angels, one for every 10 friends they get to sign up for the Glupod Facebook application, to create the Glupod Facebook application, the company behind Glupod, has partnered with a carbon dioxide offsetting company, TerraPa. The Glupods will be granted on the game's launch date later this spring.

Something Inc. will donate 1,000 glucs that equal 202 lbs of carbon dioxide offsetting, for every Glupod angel earned. Glupod owners can play to earn more glucs to fight global warming, Once the game launches.

Managing Director and co-founder of Something Inc., Ioannis Tsiokos, said: "We want to send a green message to the world, and we do that by offering our game for free, and donating our funds to control global warming".

TerraPass Manager of Sales and Business Development, Mira Rubin Karp, said: "This is one of the most creative approaches to controlling carbon emissions we've seen". "It's an easy way to get involved. I hope a lot of people around the globe will take advantage of this offer."
