The market-leading provider of forensic video analysis and clarification solutions, Ocean Systems, has been awarded a 2008 Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP) grant to provide forensic video and image clarification systems to local public service agencies across the country. The grant is funded through the FEMA National Preparedness Directorate, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The CEDAP grant supplies selected qualifying agencies with the most widely used video, image and audio evidence clarification system available, Ocean Systems dTective® system equipment. The 2008 grant, additionally, covers the travel and lodging costs for two agency representatives to receive in-person training on the dTective® system.
President, Ocean Systems, Angelo Guarino, stated: "We are extremely excited to have been selected by DHS for this gran." He added: "The dTective® System and our new ClearID® product can provide local government agencies with the necessary tools and capabilities they may not otherwise be able to afford."
To enhance regional response capabilities, mutual aid, and interoperable communications, CEDAP is a highly competitive program that works in conjunction with other DHS grant programs. Together with the training and technical assistance required to operate the dTective® equipment, to public safety agencies in smaller jurisdictions and certain metropolitan areas, the CEDAP grant provides technology and equipment.
