Digi Introduces Stand-Alone Presentation Player

Digi International introduced the Digi ShowBox - a stand-alone presentation player for tradeshow exhibits, information displays, mobile workforce presentations or any other electronic exhibit. The cost-effective Digi ShowBox eliminates the need for dedicated notebook PCs with electronic presentations, displays or exhibits. The Digi ShowBox is now available for US$399.

It is small, rugged and lightweight, making it easy to hide on a tradeshow floor, and inexpensive and safe to ship.
Customers also no longer need to invest in expensive and single-use printed graphics. The Digi ShowBox makes it easy to display electronic graphics at your tradeshow booth, at a fraction of the cost typically spent on printing and shipping graphics for one event.

"The Digi ShowBox is small enough to fit in your jacket pocket,"
said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of global sales and marketing, Digi International. "It has no fan or hard drive so is extremely rugged and easy to ship. It's one-third to one-fourth the cost of a laptop and eliminates the cost and hassle of printed graphics."

If you have already gone electronic for your graphics, the Digi ShowBox will maximize your booth space by eliminating the PC
or notebook previously needed to power the graphics. Instead of shipping or carrying signage and PCs to your next event, you can rent a monitor and bring a Digi ShowBox. To use the Digi ShowBox, users simply load content from a USB flash drive and connect it to a monitor. It features two modes: play and configuration/thumbnail. Play mode begins running content as soon as the USB drive is inserted or allows mouse control for image advance.

Configuration/thumbnail mode allows users to view graphics as thumbnails if more than one presentation is included o
n a single flash drive. It also allows users to choose between various sorting, slide playing and startup modes that allow for customization in how and when the multiple presentations appear.

Futures of the Digi ShowBox:

    - Replace printed signage with electronic graphics
    - Reduce or eliminate printing and shipping costs - save $600-900* or more per event
    - Eliminate costly repairs common with PCs/notebooks
    - Eliminate long lead times required for sign design, approvals and printing
    - Reuse graphics at multiple events with minimal or no design changes
    - Make graphics on the fly – update messaging during event as needed
    - Leave laptops and PCs at home or in hotel - eliminate risk of theft from booth
    - Digi ShowBox is small (4" x 7" x 1") and lightweight (10 oz) – mount it anywhere with Velcro or double-sided tape
    - Create graphics images with PowerPoint or other design tools
    - Use bundled software to resize, crop, rotate images, enhance colors and modify resolutions
    - Supports common graphics formats including JPEG, GIF
    - Loop through presentations automatically
    - Use a USB mouse to guide customers through slides
