An announcement had been made by Proxicast (http://www.proxicast.com ), stating that it has become one of a select group of authorized resellers of Duel Systems' ExpressCard to PC-Card conversion adapter, the "DuelAdapter Cradle".

With many new 3G (third generation - EVDO / HDSPA / HSUPA / UMTS) cellular modem cards are now available in ExpressCard form factor, a compatibility issue for many devices such as 3G cellular routers and laptops that only have support for traditional PC-Card based modems can be created by this situation.

Without any need to upgrade their computers and networking devices, the DuelAdapter Cradle from Duel Systems enables users of computers and networking devices that only have PC-Card (PCMCIA or CardBus) slots to use ExpressCard based devices for wireless, cellular, broadband and other applications.

With no compromise in speed and with "plug-and-play" ease of use, the DuelAdapter Cradle mechanically and electrically bridges the ExpressCard and PC-Card formats. At the full PCMCIA and CardBus transfer rates supported by the host device, the Cradle seamlessly converts information and transfers data, without requiring any software driver.

Enabling the use of ExpressCard modems in the LAN-Cell 2's PC-Card Slot, the DuelAdapter Cradle is an excellent complementary product for the Proxicast LAN-Cell 2 3G cellular router. Both manufactured by Novatel Wireless, owners of the Verizon V740 and Sprint EX720 wireless broadband ExpressCard modems, can now use these ExpressCards in the Proxicast LAN-Cell 2 3G cellular router.
