E2open Boosts Demand-Driven Network Business Performance  » read source
E2open announced that demand-driven network leaders highlighted in a recent AMR Research report transformed their supply chains with E2open. In the November 2007 Value Chain Strategies Report, "How Do I Drive Value Through a Value Network?", research director Lora Cecere provides in-depth case studies of five enterprises achieving business performance improvements by aligning supply chain strategy to business strategy.

AMR Research notes, "The most mature processes were extended past the four walls of the company to focus on external,
customer-focused networks." Three of those five enterprises, Seagate Technology, IBM and The Boeing Company, transformed their supply chains with E2open. The leaders included in the report transformed their supply chain with E2open to obtain visibility, control and bottom-line performance improvements across their global extended supply chain.

According to the report, "Traditional supply chain processes are shifting from a supply-based focus on transactions
and inward-focused metrics to an external focus on the design and management of relationships. Demand-driven value networks are holistically designed to maximize value across the set of processes and technologies that senses and orchestrates demand based on a near real-time, zero-latency demand signal across multiple networks of employees, suppliers, and customers."

E2open solutions supporting vendor managed inventory, outsourced manufacturing, procure-to-pay and supplier collaboration
help customers accelerate the cycle time of transformation initiatives in supply chain, procurement and trading partner integration. Effective control begins with a consolidated view of all orders, inventory levels, forecasts, costs, logistics flows, manufacturing work-in-progress and eco-compliance data.

"Being profiled in this AMR Research report is a testament to the leadership these companies have demonstrated
in partner-based manufacturing, vendor-managed inventory and demand pull models. As a result of these supply chain strategies, customers have gained market share, improved customer service, improved operational productivity, reduced production cycle times and increased inventory turns to levels that lead their industries," said Lorenzo Martinelli, E2open senior vice president. "E2open plays a key role as the multi-enterprise platform for these supply chain innovators, delivering annual benefits from $5 million to over $400 million with payback in six to 18 months."

Traditional enterprise software like ERP, SCM, and EAI was never designed to manage supply chain processes outside your company
. E2open Solutions automate, manage, and control processes between you and your suppliers, customers and other trading partners, regardless of their size or technical proficiency. E2open provides a Multi-Enterprise Platform delivered on-demand to support a broad range of supply chain, procurement and logistics processes. This allows companies to collaborate, synchronize and integrate with external partners by automating inter-company processes with suppliers, customers and other trading partners across multiple tiers of their supply networks.
