Evigia Systems Inc., the provider of highly functional yet low cost integrated active RFID hardware, announced the introduction of its EV3 product family of active transponders, interrogators, and accessories. Evigia is the industry leader in utilizing integrated sensor and ASIC technologies to dramatically improve the functionality and cost of Active RFID hardware products. These advances allow significant improvement in the performance and cost of asset-management supply chains.

The EV3-Series of hardware products is designed to provide dramatically improved functionality
at a much more attractive price point than was attainable by previous conventional Active RFID design approaches. With the judicious use of Integrated Sensor and ASIC technologies, improved sensing and other value-added capabilities have been included across the family of products, while still improving the size, power consumption, and end-user cost of our hardware products. Consequently, any supply-chain management network built on these devices will enjoy an improved ROI along with significantly enhanced functionality, visibility, and security control.

Karl Ma, VP Sales & Marketing noted: "This EV3 product platform is designed to provide dramatically improved functionality with attractive economics than was attainable by previous conventional active RFID design approaches. We use Integrated Sensor and ASIC technologies judiciously to improve sensing and other value-added capabilities across the family of products, while still improving the size, power consumption, and end-user costs. With this EV3 product line, it will be easier and more cost-effective to dramatically increase visibility of assets in-transit through a complex supply-chain, monitor security breaches, and provide a more reliable and timely supply network."

RFID tags and sensor tags available today are primarily produced at the board level using discrete circuits,
memory, radio and sensor devices. Not to mention the added cost burden, battery power and design complexity consumed by interconnecting and glue circuitry between each of these discrete components can be eliminated when all these functions are integrated onto one monolithic integrated circuit. In its RFID product lines, the heart of Evigia's technology lies in its innovative approaches and designs used to integrate digital control logic and memory structures along with the analog interfaces and radio components.

The network's functionality, visibility, and security control are dramatically increased,
while the underlying hardware products themselves benefit from smaller size, lower power consumption, and lower cost with our solution approach. Supply-chain management networks built on these devices will enjoy an improved ROI along with significantly enhanced functionality, visibility, and security control. Products in the EV3 family are fully compliant and interoperable within ISO 18000-7.
