The First Annual International Caribbean Art Fair (ICAFair), will be held in New York city, at The Puck Building, 295 Lafayette St. This art fair is exclusively featuring artworks created by artists of Caribbean heritage. There, thirty-two exhibitors from several Caribbean islands, Canada, France and the United States will showcase more than 100 artists.
Workshop series and a lecture organized by the Haitian Art Education and Appraisal Society (HAEAS), Inc., and even guided art tours by art experts are an important part of the 3-day fair. The workshop topics will be posted on the Fair's website.
Marcel Wah, ICAFair's organizer and gallery owner, is providing more exposure for Caribbean art, affirmed: "The goal of this art fair is to promote and advance Caribbean Art and Caribbean artists living throughout the world regions. Not only will this be a venue to purchase art not often seen, but ICAFair provides an opening to inform the public about the authenticity, complexity and value of Caribbean Art."

This first-of-its kind exposition will feature the works of new and established Caribbean artists living in or outside of the 34 Caribbean islands. On exhibit will be original paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and limited edition prints. Participating artists representing Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. Kitts, Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and other countries include Joel Besmar, Sandro De La Rosa, Li Domínguez Fong, Giosvany Echevarría, Ada Balcacer, Amaya Salazar, Aguedo Alonso, Imna Arroyo, Ted Davis, Javier Gonzalez Gallosa, Reina Ledon, Philippe Dodard, Essud Fungcap, Roberto Stephenson, Patrick Wah, Marcel Wah, James Cesar Wah, Amos Ferguson,Boscoe Holder, Belkis Ayon, Marie-Denise Douyon, Léonel Jules, Jose Acosta, Barbara Nesin and many-many others.
The opening Preview Night Benefit and Collectors' Reception on November 1st will benefit the only museum in New York City that represents the diversity of art and culture in the Caribbean and Latin America, El Museo del Barrio,. Along with requisite cocktails, the Benefit's $125 admission price includes a show catalogue, a signed print by Guest Artist, Scherezade Garcia, and one re-admission to any show days.
ICAFair is organized by Studio Wah Exhibitions, LLC, whose main business is to produce annual fine art exhibits featuring Caribbean art that will be held at various venues in areas likes United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
Both art collectors and gallery owners, as well as museum curators, corporate art buyers, interior designers, art appraisers, art critics and others with an interest in fine art culture will have the opportunity at this event to view the best Caribbean artworks that galleries and artists have to offer.
Currently, there are no other producers of a high-quality fine art fair focused exclusively on the Caribbean art market. Artists, galleries and the general art buying public will be among the art enthusiasts that will attend.
