The leading provider of automated hardware functional test for digital circuit boards, Kozio™, Inc. (http://www.kozio.com ), today announced support for the MPC8377E, MPC8378E, and MPC8379E, the latest Freescale PowerQUICC® II Pro storage processors. By providing complete hardware validation suites for design, manufacturing and to ship with the product, the Kozio solution simplifies product development. Kozio is helping manufacturers of storage equipment succeed in the challenge of rapidly releasing new products to meet consumer demands.

Including the MPC837xE series of processors, as well as numerous other CPUs and chipsets, a manufacturing solution for functional testing of Freescale-based hardware, is provided by Kozio's kDiagnostics™. Standard hardware test suites include flow, focus, and stress testing for SATA-II, PCI Express, PCI, USB, DDR2, Gigabit Ethernet, and other components which can save man-years of test development effort. Reducing your test cost, improving product quality, and improving customer satisfaction, with Kozio's functional test technology you isolate failures to components at full processor speeds.

To validate the production of the MPC8377E and MPC8379E reference design boards, kDiagnostics is in use today by Freescale and Micetek. Kozio delivered a validation solution to Micetek in Taiwan where they are using it for production line validation.

Targeting SMB business and high-end consumer applications such as Network Attached Storage (NAS) with RAID 5, multifunction printers, and office-in-a box solutions, the MPC8379E-RDB reference platform is a highly integrated board. While addressing the needs of application-specific requirements of consumer and business storage equipment markets, Kozio engineered its off-the-shelf test solutions to speed up and simplify product development.
