Gameloft Selected As Developer Of Games For Nokia N-Gage Platform

    Gameloft, recently named the publisher and developer of video games for mobile phones, announced that it has been selected by Nokia for the launch of the N-Gage platform. Six Gameloft games will be offered on the launch date out of 18 games. Gameloft is the international publisher and developer of video games for mobile phones. Established in 1999, it has emerged as one of the top innovators in its field. The company creates games for mobile handsets equipped with Java, Brew or Symbian technology.

    N-Gage is the made-for-mobile games service of the leading international mobile phone manufacturer.
N-Gage will be available in compatible Nokia Nseries and other S60 3rd edition devices. Partnership agreements with leading licensors and sports personalities such as Ubisoft Entertainment, Universal Pictures, ABC, Dreamworks Animations SKG, Endemol, 20th Century Fox, Viacom, Sony Pictures, Touchtone Television, Warner Bros., FifPro, Lamborghini, Paris Hilton, Gus Hansen, Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter, Reggie Bush, Llewton Hewitt, Jonny Wilkinson or Robinho allow Gameloft to form strong relationships with international brands.

"When the world's number one mobile phone manufacturer makes such a tremendous breakthrough in terms of ergonomics, ease of use and technical support, the entire mobile game industry can expect to take a giant leap forward towards a new generation of games."

    The select Gameloft games to be offered with the platform's release are: Brain ChallengeTM,
DogzTM, Midnight PoollTM 3D, Block Breaker Deluxe, Asphalt 3TM: Street RulesTM and Brothers in Arms 3D. In addition to the partnerships, Gameloft owns and operates titles such as Block Breaker Deluxe, Asphalt: Urban GT and New York Nights. The total number of games-enabled handsets is anticipated to exceed four billion units in 2011. Through agreements with major telephone wireless carriers, handset manufacturers, specialized distributors and its online shop, Gameloft has a distribution network in over 80 plus countries.

Currently, some select N-Gage compatible devices will have a special preview application pre-installed.
