Silanis, leading e-signature provider, today announced that version 5.9 of its award-winning ApproveIt Desktop electronic signature software had received certification by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC).To support the DoD's rapid acquisition and fielding of global, net-centric warfighting capabilities, JITC provides a full-range of agile and cost-effective test, evaluation and certification services. This certification ensures that ApproveIt Desktop 5.9 is fully compliant with the interoperability requirements of the Department of Defense's Public-Key Infrastructure (DoD PKI).
Silanis has the most JITC certifications of any electronic signature solution provider. Its number of JITC certification awards is brought by this latest to ten.
Making it a truly "One Pen Solution®", Silanis' flagship product, ApproveIt Desktop, supports Adobe Acrobat 8.1, IBM Lotus Forms, and Microsoft Office 2007, including Microsoft Excel Word, and Windows XP SP2 and Vista.
Tommy Petrogiannis, Silanis President stated: "Support for the most commonly used applications is important because it allows organizations to use the application that makes the most sense for their process." He added: "You wouldn't want to sign timesheets in Word, or a contract in Excel, for instance."
To ensure the highest level of user and data authentication, while creating a signed record of a person's intent, Public key-enabled ApproveIt Desktop also leverages the Department of Defense's public-key infrastructure (DoD PKI).Because they integrate with it, and use whichever credentials are already in place, an especially important feature in government, where norms often evolving, Silanis e-signatures are a quick and easy way for organizations to derive value from their existing security infrastructure.
As part of the US Army Publishing Content Management System (APCMS), the US Army has an enterprise license with Silanis to sign its most popular document formats. A US Army audit estimates the US Army will save $1.3 billion annually, once APCMS is fully deployed.
The US Air Force has also standardized on Silanis' server-based e-signing solution to enable Web-based form approvals through a service-oriented architecture that gives warfighters instant, secure access to logistics information worldwide, its Global Combat Support System (GCSS).
