A new web-based live video broadcasting platform, and social-broadcasting network dedicated exclusively to console gamers, BlitzCast.tv is offered by BlitzCast Networks. using BlitzCast's Spectator software and the optional BlitzBox video capture unit, BlitzCast gives individual gamers the ability to broadcast live gaming competitions from their gaming consoles, and automatically store it to the "Online Film Room". And the show doesn't stop there...

Didn't catch the live game? No problem. Users can get a recap of everything that happened in their gaming communities, leagues, and other gaming sites from around the web on BlitzCast's and LAGtv's flagship live hosted TV show, CSTN - described as being like ESPN and "Best Damn Sports Show Period for gamers". CSTN airs every Tues.,Thurs., and Sat., at 9 p.m. EST.

Users are raving. "The spotlight is definitely the hype. This helps to get our name out there, and with getting sponsors", Bubon1c of the The Dis3as3 Clan, says. "BlitzCast has made my Madden league much more exciting. Doing it Live in front of real fans and spectators, combined with the highlights on the CSTN show, makes it feel like the real NFL", boasts Aaron Cain of GameTimePhilly.

Combined with gaming news coverage on CSTN, live game broadcasting has been a hit. BlitzCast's President, Dallas Moss attributes this success to the fact that BlitzCast built its entire system from the ground up, specifically for the console gamer. "We built our live encoder to work side by side with online gaming, a desktop recorder for gamer montages, automatic storage online for show highlights, plus we created hardware, the BlitzBox, a video capture unit, specifically for console gamers", says Moss.

"What's more, is that for pro gamers and gamers who are trying to go pro, we're integrating tools to allow them to showcase their sponsors, while they're broadcasting. Sponsors now gain maximum exposure to the 'all important' 16-34 year olds, and the gamer gets to travel the globe to the various gaming events, in their quest for gaming glory", adds Moss.

BlitzCast is also one of the first live streaming sites to utilize Microsoft's new Silverlight media platform. Mecole Sanjave, developer, states: "We've already invested in multiple media streaming platforms, including Flash Media. But, the flexibility and easy integration of the Silverlight platform was hard to ignore during development".
