Launching support for additional Microsoft DBManager and AdminPack IIS Manager UI extensions in public beta for their Windows 2008 hosting customers has been announced by a leading innovator in Windows hosting, DiscountASP.NET.

Microsoft introduced, along with the launch of Windows 2008 and Internet Information Services 7.0 (IIS7), a new IIS tool which provides users with a familiar user interface to remotely manage IIS7 server configurations, called IIS Manager. DiscountASP.NET customers, using IIS Manager, can view settings and manipulate their web.config files for features that have been delegated to them.

VP Marketing at DiscountASP.NET, Takeshi Eto, stated: "A key feature with IIS7 webhosting is the ability to delegate website configurations to our customers." He added: "One of our guiding principles is to give our customers maximum control over their hosting environment, so we chose to implement IIS feature delegation on our Windows 2008 shared hosting platform."

The following Microsoft IIS Manager UI extensions are introduced by DiscountASP.NET:

- ASP.NET Authorization Rules UI: This tool allows customers to configure ASP.NET authorization settings.
- ASP.NET Error Page UI: This tool allows customers to configure ASP.NET custom error settings.
- Request Filtering UI: This tool allows customers to configure IIS request filtering module settings.
- DBManager: This tool allows customers to perform basic database administration and queries.

Takeshi Eto continued: "Microsoft has been releasing new IIS Manager UI extensions and we wanted to be among the first hosts to make them available in a live environment and give our customers the opportunity to contribute important feedback to help improve these new tools." He concluded: "Our customers can enable access to all or a subset of the additional IIS Manager UI extensions through their hosting control panel."

DiscountASP.NET, as a Microsoft Gold Certified partner, is an innovative leader in Microsoft Windows hosting. DiscountASP.NET is one of the first hosts to offer Windows 2008 shared hosting and was recently voted Best ASP.NET Hosting Service in the asp.netPRO Magazine 2008 Readers' Choice poll for the fourth consecutive year. DiscountASP.NET, through strong word-of-mouth and their commitment to ASP.NET and SQL technology, has become the choice for affordable enterprise-class ASP.NET web hosting.
