In order to reduce mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) and improve application delivery, operations managers and network engineers can now view key performance metrics from NetQoS® Inc. alongside system and network management reports from Microsoft Corp.

The NetQoS Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007 combines link traffic analysis, application response time, and device performance metrics from the NetQoS Performance Center into the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager console. The combination will enable operations teams to provide superior network and application services via an enterprise view of the relationship between infrastructure use and application performance.

Director of System Center product management at Microsoft Corp., Robert Reynolds, said: “Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 monitors servers, applications, and clients across the enterprise to provide an end-to-end view of the health of an organization’s IT environment”. “With the combination of NetQoS Performance Center views and passive performance data collection with System Center Operations Manager, customers have rich capabilities to quickly identify the performance-related events that are having a detrimental impact on service quality.”

With continuously updated summary reports, including incidents by network, performance by application, and top enterprise protocols, the combination provides an at-a-glance view of network, server, and application performance across an organization.
Along with real-time alerts on performance degradations, this diagnostic data will help operations teams decrease MTTR and improve operational efficiency and collaboration. Each view in System Center Operations Manager 2007 provides, for more detailed troubleshooting and analysis, a direct link to the NetQoS Performance Center and its component modules.
