Elfiq Networks is proud to announce two new models of its Link Load Balancer appliances built on a next generation hardware platform named the E Series. The Elfiq LB-1500E is a new rackmount entry-level Link Load Balancer supporting up to 8 links and 75 Mbps of throughput. It supports hardware LAN failover and requires less than 25W of power consumption. The Elfiq LB-4000E is designed for datacenters with 8 gigabit ports and 2 SFP fiber connectors in a compact 1U design.

More than competitively matched and priced, the LB-1500E
redefines the entry-level playing field because it also supports Elfiq's highly praised SitePathMPTX technology for firewall/VPN resilience and GeoLink geographical link load balancing.

Elfiq LB-4000E is licensed with two virtual instances of the Link Load Balancer
and has three pairs of programmable LAN failover ports. With this new powerful product, customers will be able to handle over a gigabit per second of throughput, meeting the demand of top data centers around the world.

Robust and flexible, it integrates a real time failover engine for increased reliability,
allowing the addition of a second load balancer in a fault tolerant configuration. The Link Load Balancer's system and configuration reside on FLASH memory in the device, thus eliminating the use of any mechanical parts (eg: hard disk) and therefore reducing the risk of failure.

"The exciting new E Series models are based on the Elfiq enhanced hardware platforms to bring a greater performance/price
value and advanced functionalities like the LAN failover in the market place. Because of Elfiq's unique transparent operation, the LAN failover allows traffic to pass through the Elfiq unit even if it is turned off. More E series models will be launched in 2008 to continue in our efforts to supply our customers with leading products." said Jean Pascal Hebert, Vice-President Business Development of Elfiq Networks.

Offered at a very competitive price, its integration is quick, easy and straightforward.
Changes on network structure, architecture or IP addressing are NOT required. This makes for a simple installation which does not require any intervention from your service providers, nor any network address modifications. Operating at the data link layer (layer 2), the Elfiq Link Load Balancer does not require any IP addresses. It’s practically invisible to the rest of the network, which makes it a highly secure device.

The Elfiq Link Load Balancer implementation is by far the simplest on the market.
No IP address migration or any change to the firewalls/routers are required. The Elfiq Link Load Balancer guarantees optimal access for your network and applications for business continuity, while optimizing your multi-homed network throughput. Advanced functionalities like geographic load balancing and VPN multiplexing make it a key element of disaster recovery projects and ensure maximum availability to the enterprise's IP services.
