Open-Xchange Inc. announced a special program for Zimbra customers concerns about their investment in light of the pending Microsoft/Yahoo deal. In an effort to remove business drag in the opportunity to migrate to collaboration flexibility Open-Xchange is offering groupware customers everywhere an offer that will let them openly move to a new freedom in groupware and collaboration.

Zimbra customers can fax the Open-Xchange Competitive Upgrade form to Open-Xchange
together with a copy of their last two years groupware invoice and Open-Xchange will offer a two year subscription to an equivalent Open-Xchange product for 50% of the cost of their invoice. Open-Xchange Community Edition offers email, calendar, contacts, tasks and document sharing providing companies with all the tools needed to facilitate communication and efficient teamwork.

"This is a disturbing time for many Zimbra users," stated Rafael Laguna, CEO, Open-Xchange.
"Along with this program, we also introduced our Community Edition earlier this month - to make sure that any investment in Open-Xchange will be protected."

Customers and/or partners can improve communication and teamwork with simple, intuitive tools and intelligent features,
such as smart links between calendar appointments, task lists, contacts, documents, bookmarks, knowledge articles and AJAX-based mashup capabilities by UWA (Netvibes Universal Widget API) Open-Xchange Server 5 delivers more than users expect. The rich interface provides a dynamic new experience. Secure and robust, OX delivers the power to share email, calendar, contacts, tasks and documents. In fact, OX includes 11 collaboration modules, more than any other groupware product.

OX is designed to please systems administrators. The admin module makes it easy to add, change,
or delete users and their entitlements. Configuring the system is simple. Color charts show system load and performance. The Open-Xchange Hosting Edition is the only Linux-based, open source groupware solution designed specifically to meet the needs of hosting providers. OX Hosting Edition has been architected to integrate into a hosting provider’s existing infrastructure such as authentication, provisioning, billing, and email storage rather than require that these systems be replaced.

Mobility is becoming a very important feature of email and groupware solutions.
As mobile devices become more powerful end user expectations are raising: The ability to have a centrally held calendar, task list, contact list and email account accessible from a mobile device is becoming more and more expected. The problem facing mobility solutions providers (IT administrators) is that there are many different ways to offer a mobility solution. Each of these solutions has its own benefits and drawbacks. For this reason Open-Xchange offers a number of solutions that can be chosen from so as to best fit their customers’ specific requirements.

Qualifying requirements for the competitive upgrade are:

    - The competing product must have been purchased in the last 18 months.
    - You must purchase an equal or greater number of Open-Xchange User licenses.
    - The competitive upgrade rebate cannot be combined with other special offers.
    - You must fax Open-Xchange your invoice listing the competing products, quantity, date.
