'Oscars of the Internet' Recognized Loewy Design

For its redesign of Science online for Facts on File, an award-winning publisher of print and online reference materials for the school and library market, Loewy Design is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as Official Honoree by the Webby Awards. The Official Honoree distinction recognizes work exhibiting remarkable achievement.

President of Loewy Design, which is based in Melville, New York, David Loewy, commented: "The Facts On File Science Online website redesign gave us an exciting opportunity to apply our strengths in information architecture, interface design, branding and online strategy. We're extremely pleased to be recognized for our achievement".

President of Infobase Publishing, of which Facts On File is an esteemed imprint, Mark McDonnell, said: "We are thrilled that Science Online has been granted such a prestigious international honor". "To be selected as a Webby Award 'Official Honoree' is a welcome validation of one of our most acclaimed online reference databases."

The Webby Awards, hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by the New York Times, is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including Online Film & Video, Interactive Advertising, Websites, and Mobile Websites. Including Jamie Oliver, Arianna Huffington, Harvey Weinstein, David Bowie, Matt Groening, Internet inventor Vinton Cerf, and RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser, The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization.

Executive director of The Webby Awards, David-Michel Davies, said: "The Webby Awards honors the outstanding work that is setting the standards for the Internet".
