Eye-Fi, producer of wireless memory card for digital cameras, announced an agreement with Lexar Media, a provider of memory products for digital media, to introduce a wireless memory card based on Eye-Fi's patent-pending technology. The Eye-Fi Card is a wireless memory card. It automatically uploads pictures from your digital camera to your PC or Mac and to your favorite photo sharing, printing, blogging or social networking site. As a result of the agreement, Lexar Media will introduce a new memory card with Eye-Fi's technology that allows users to send photos directly from their digital camera to their computer or their favorite online photo sharing site. Jef Holove, CEO of Eye-Fi stated: "Our agreement with Lexar Media is our first step toward offering camera, storage, and digital home device makers a unique way to incorporate the power of wireless connectivity and web services into their products. We see Lexar as an ideal business partner to extend the benefits of Eye-Fi's wireless photo sharing to consumers. Lexar's intellectual property in flash memory is a sign of their technology leadership and Lexar has a portfolio of brands that consumers have relied on for years. " The Eye-Fi Card comes with everything needed to make it simple to set up and connect to your home Wi-Fi network. After that, pop the card into your digital camera and start capturing those memories. It stores pictures like a regular SD card no matter where you are, and uploads your photos automatically as soon as you return to your home network. All you have to do is turn the camera on. "Our customers are always looking for easier, faster and more reliable ways to store and share their memories, and we want to keep pace with their busy lifestyles. We believe our customers will enjoy the benefits of being able to tap into the benefits of Eye-Fi's service - including direct uploads of photos to many different online destinations and users' home computers," commented Brad Anderson, Director of Product Marketing at Lexar Media.
