36 of 57 Power Efficiency Tests Won By Amd Over Intel
 Recent tests by Neal Nelson & Associates, an independent computer performance consulting firm, have reported that in 36 of the 57 cases tested, an AMD Opteron based server delivered better power efficiency than a comparably configured Intel Xeon based server.  There's a reason why you were able to quickly think of the real open-source programs and you probably haven't got a clue as to what Microsoft is doing. It's because while Microsoft is trying to at least pretend to be a friend to open source and the boys from Redmond are even trying to get the Open Source Initiative for review and approve two new open-source licenses they don't produce any significant open-source software. Think of some of the most popular open-source programs. I'll bet you thought of at least one of these: Linux, Firefox, Thunderbird and Apache.
