Evony: Age I is an MMORTS which is highly addictive. I enjoy the easy playing game style, as you can log off at any point and attacks, building upgrades, research and troop building will continue running. This obviously means you can pop on at any point, say at work or college, to start a new upgrade or more troops, then pop off and pretend your not playing games =)
Good, clear and simple graphics means low system requirements and usually a high FPS.

The only bad point ive found while playing the game is the tendency for the chat and servers to lag at peak time, probably due to its exponential growth.
Summary:
The routine quest system is very handy to the new player, helpng you build and strengthen your city quickly and easily. It has a 7 day beginner protection which is a massive boon to newbies.
Throughout the game you can buy or win items to speed up buildings, resources and troops, these are won through a daily quest, or bought using game cents. You can also buy extra resources, medals, troops, items to boost your hero's stats or their experience. There are many ways to earn game cents, all found on

When it comes to actually playing the game, you will probably want to join an alliance. Finding a good one shouldnt be difficult, and they will give advice, perhaps help with resources or boost your troop numbers, always handy when it comes to fending off an attack. Once you have joined an alliance and built your basic city following the routine quests, you will want to gather resources and boost your troop numbers. You can either buy or borrow the resources to make your troops, but don't forget they need feeding. Food can be farmed, bought or pillaged from neighboring NPC and player cities. You will probably want to avoid attacking other players at first, as NPC's will not sent a revenge attack, but can move onto that once you have the numbers to defend yourself.
A few tips:
1-Research about hero's, find what is a good hero and what isnt, hero's, mayors and success are all linked.
2- When you build your Rally Spot, remember to tick the *open gate to fight* tickbox, this means that if you are attacked while you are away, your troops will still defend.
3- Try to log in every day, that way you will get your daily quest Amulet and thus be able to play the wheel of fortune for a random prize (anything from resources to new hero's)
4-Keep an eye on the market when deciding what resource gathering sites to use, if one resource is selling at a much higher price than the rest , it may be worth farming that and selling some for a profit and using the money to buy cheaper resources.
5-Dont rush out of your beginner protection, if you can use the time to better fortify your city against attacks, especially if your alliance members are less helpful or a long way away.
6-Be patient and try to think about everything before you do it, you cant just rush in headfirst with this game. Which is one of the reasons i like it.
