This PC monitor - HDTV combo is a perfect choice for someone who need a decent high resolution monitor and a HDTV in one box. It's nothing special in it on either side but it does fairly well in both cases.
At first i have a couple of problems using it as an external monitor for my laptop. I tried to connect it to my laptop via HDMI but the image was really ugly in the monitor's native resolution. The fonts was ugly and the entire image was a little bigger then the screen itself so the margins are cropped. After several hours of trying different things to solve this i found the solution with a little help from the internet. The problem was with the "naming" of the input source. If you have this problem i haved here is the solution:
Go to menu->sources and then select hdmi. In the name column select PC for the input. Yes this list is a list of input types!. Unfortunately the menu suggests that it's just a possibility to add some labels to your devices, but that's not the case. It's more important than that.
