Seagate Technology announced that its leading-edge hard drives, the heart of the digital lifestyle, will power Microsoft's new Windows Home Server with the highest levels of storage capacity, performance and reliability inside and outside the box. The DB35 disc drive family combines virtually silent operation, high performance optimized for media recording streaming, and a high shock rating for reliable integration.

The Windows Home Server is a new Microsoft software solution that gives families with more than one personal computer an easy way to protect
, centralize and share photos, home video, music and documents. A key benefit of Windows Home Server is simple expansion of a single pool of storage to keep growing archives of digital content more secure, organized and accessible from anywhere. Seagate's Barracuda disc drive, the world's most popular desktop PC hard drive; the DB35 disc drive series, whisper-quiet products designed for digital video recorders; and the company's external storage devices - all in capacities of up to 1 terabyte - provide ideal solutions for Windows Home Server storage.

Windows Home Server is available within hardware solutions from leading system builders. Consumers using these solutions
are able to easily add storage capacity to Windows Home Server by installing Seagate 3.5-inch internal hard drives in extra home server drive bays and plugging in Seagate's FreeAgent and the new Maxtor OneTouch 4 external solutions to home server USB ports.

The Barracuda 7200.11, Seagate's newest desktop hard drive, packs 1TB of data on just four discs to provide cool operating temperatures
and low power consumption, which help extend drive life. Barracuda disc drives are also ideal for single-user systems such as desktop PC RAID, digital editing, hot-rod gaming, single-drive external storage and consumer PCs.

The Seagate FreeAgent and Maxtor OneTouch 4 families provide the ideal external storage solution for on-demand, secure access to important digital content,
delivering plug-and-play storage expansion for personal computers and home media servers. The drives remain the top choice for manufacturers that deliver systems fueling the digital entertainment revolution.

Steven VanRoekel, director of Windows Server Solutions at Microsoft commented: "Windows Home Server
is all about helping families protect their digital content, and more easily share and enjoy it together. Storage expandability, performance and reliability are critical to the product's capabilities, so Microsoft is pleased to have the strong support of Seagate and its storage technology."

Seagate storage delivers the performance, capacity and reliability required for Windows Home Server to:

- Provide peace of mind through automatic daily backups of a family's digital content, as well as easy restoration of files or an entire PC,
- Allow family members to access and share documents, video, photos and music from any Web-enabled PC when away from home,
- Centralize and organize digital content with familiar shared folders created by subject or topic so the whole family can stay connected and enjoy content together,
- Expand storage capacity by simply connecting a new Seagate hard drive to keep pace with growing digital lifestyles.
