ClearSaleing Inc. announced that it has implemented its online advertising solution on an end-to-end Microsoft platform, built on Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Internet Information Services and the Microsoft .NET Framework, as well as leveraging the Microsoft Enterprise Libraries. A flexible ETL solution was required due to the complexities of integrating data from multiple data sources and to handle client specific extract rules. The operational portion of the ClearSaleing platform heavily relies on SQL Server 2005 Integration Services.
The result is an integrated, search engine marketing, information and data management platform that allows ClearSaleing clients to track, manage and optimize the profitability of their online advertising investments. In attempt to minimize budget and development staffing requirements, ClearSaleing was looking for a highly integrated toolset that didn't require additional overhead to integrate disparate components.
"We couldn't accept the integration risk of using products from multiple vendors," said Luke Tuttle, Chief Technology Officer for ClearSaleing. "We had to have a platform that enabled us to efficiently develop, but also provided advanced features that enabled us to deliver unquestionable business value to our customers."
"By utilizing an end-to-end Microsoft solution, partners such as ClearSaleing are able to offer a unique service to their customers," said Kim Saunders, senior director of SQL Server marketing at Microsoft. "With products built to work together and only one place to go for support, ClearSaleing is able to spend more time developing solutions to enable its customers to make the most of their online advertising budget and less time worrying about integration and technical issues."
At the core of the ClearSaleing system is its business intelligence module comprised of a robust data warehouse and complex, multi-dimensional data cubes. The system's business intelligence module allows ClearSaleing to efficiently mine vast amounts of search and purchase data, recognize strategic customer behavior, patterns and trends, and with this knowledge, deliver actionable recommendations for enhancements to its customer's search engine marketing and other online advertising initiatives.
ClearSaleing's search engine marketing technology has to interface with search engines, comparison shopping engines and its customers' systems on a near instantaneous basis. SQL Server 2005 Integration Services has allowed ClearSaleing to build a robust batch architecture with a common framework that enables efficient management of their ever growing batch environment.
The native capability to integrate with Web Services and FTP make SQL Server 2005 Integration Services the perfect platform to integrate data from disparate sources into one common process. It has also been used to create a powerful monitoring facility that automatically notifies ClearSaleing staff if there are any anomalies in the flow of data into the system.
"The flexibility of SQL Server 2005 Integration Services allows ClearSaleing to provide custom, tailored solutions for our customers at an affordable price point," Tuttle said. "Some of our customers have custom attributes they need to track for their unique business needs, and ClearSaleing is able to offer a customized solution that meets their needs in a predictable time frame and at an affordable price."
