A new iPhone(R) application called Searchable Radio(TM) in conjunction with the launch of the National Public Radio's (NPR.org) new API has been launched by Axiom Software Inc. Axiom Software was invited by NPR to participate in the API alpha release. Including Axiom Software's Searchable Radio, NPR is showcasing, as part of the API launch, several widgets and applications on their website that were built using the API. One of the first comprehensive Open APIs introduced by a major national media organization is represented by this launch.

Axiom Searchable Radio is developed on the Axiom Stack web application server. Axiom Stack is a simple, flexible and robust application which is Java-based and interprets Javascript through Rhino. By the end of July 2008, Axiom Stack will be re-released under the open source General Public License (GPL).

Director of Product Management for Axiom Software, Inc., Gregg Wyland, declared: "We are excited at the opportunity to be one of the first companies to develop on the new NPR API." He added: "Axiom Stack's search-based storage provides the basis to quickly find and listen to all your favorite NPR news and features from your iPhone(R). Our developers were able to take advantage of Axiom Stack's rapid development capabilities to have the application completed within two weeks."

Including content management, social networking and blog solutions, Axiom Software, Inc. is a leading provider of Web-based software applications. These applications are driven by Axiom Stack Web development platform that includes everything needed to rapidly build and deploy light weight micro-sites, as well as more robust Web applications. While reducing costs, for medium- to large-sized companies and organizations, Axiom Software builds Web applications to increase productivity and communication. Its roster of clients includes PBS, National Geographic and the Nuclear Energy Institute.
