Bruce Clay, the search engine optimization and marketing leader has been named to the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization's 2008 Board of Directors. Being the president and owner of Bruce Clay, Inc., he has helped lead the SEM industry by creating the downloadable Search Engine Relationship Chart and the SEO Code of Ethics, and by offering training curriculum that includes a certification program to promote ethical SEO practices.

Founded in 2002, SEMPO, is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the search engine marketing industry through education and awareness. Board members volunteer to hold office for two years, with the upcoming term beginning March 12. Votes from SEMPO members were accepted on the SEMPO Web site from February 6 to February 15. While 12 of the 13 members on the Board of Directors ran for reelection, ten of the positions were awarded to incumbents. The Board of Directors is in charge of SEMPO's budget, membership, initiatives and member benefits.
