The leading provider of sound equalization solutions, Audyssey Laboratories™, is now shipping a balanced version of its award-winning Sound Equalizer. Using the company’s room correction technology: MultEQ XT, the Audyssey Sound Equalizer™ is the most advanced product.CEO of Audyssey, Michael Solomon, stated: “MultEQ is recognized as a groundbreaking room correction solution for the home theater market.” He added: “By adding a balanced version of the Sound Equalizer to our product line, consumers with balanced separates systems can receive the added benefit of MultEQ room correction in their homes.”
Through its network of AV distributors, Audyssey is now shipping both the balanced and unbalanced versions of the Sound Equalizer. With the Audyssey Installer Kit, which includes a professionally calibrated microphone and preamp, Audyssey MultEQ Pro software and supporting hardware and documentation, professional installers calibrate the Sound Equalizer.
The Audyssey Sound Equalizer integrates seamlessly with a PC application that enables installation professionals to capture up to 32 points of acoustical information throughout a listening area, called MultEQ Pro. Creating a fully automated surround system setup, MultEQ Pro, based on these measurements, automatically calculates an equalization solution that corrects for time and frequency response problems in the listening area.
To deliver sound as it was intended to every seat in the listening environment, without the distortion or coloration normally added by the room, the results of the calibration are stored in the Sound Equalizer. Displaying the before and after frequency responses of the system including delay, trim and crossover settings, professional installers generate a MultEQ Pro certificate.
The newest Sound Equalizer features eight discreet balanced XLR inputs and outputs, a front panel USB connector and a mini-XLR calibration port for easy access, and is capable of multiple zone assignments. The Sound Equalizer with balanced I/O is currently shipping with an MSRP of $5000.
