Jill Schoenberg's new book, Journal Buddies: A Boy's Journal for Discovering and Sharing Excellence, is an interactive and creative book designated to both parents and their boys. The book is meant to help boys discover their own personality. In addition, it also offers parents guidance on this path of their sons' self-discovery and helps them increase their sons' self-esteem. After all, self-esteem is a major factor in a boy's life, improving his motivation, achievements, athletics and social relationships, according to  the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Journal Buddies helps boys have a more positive view on themselves and on their parents, which is a major factor in strengthening their sense of self-esteem and self-confidence. Parents enhance this journaling adventure by identifying, sharing and recording in the journal the specific characteristics that they value in their son.

Sue, a mother from Minnesota, said about Journal Buddies for boys:
"At first my son wasn't so sure about his journal, but he has done two entries and yesterday he was so proud. I love it!"

Journal Buddies includes innovative and creative journaling tools such as creative journaling tips, daily lists of qualities, traits and talents each buddy admires about the other, a "thought for the day", lined and unlined pages and a focus word of the day. Parents and their sons complete each of the 30 entries in the book as a team and are encouraged to write, draw, cut, paste and create in their own unique journaling styles.

By visiting
http://journalbuddies.com/journalbuddiesmaillistbp.htm , you can receive a free copy of the report "89 Creative Journaling Ideas." After a month of journaling, the reflection section narrows down the boy's favorite buddy traits, and more importantly, which of his own qualities he is most proud of.

The author stated:
"It's a celebration of qualities, traits and talents that parents love about their sons and that sons love about their parents, and it's a win-win for parents and kids alike. It's journaling with a twist."

Journal Buddies: A Boy's Journal for Discovering and Sharing Excellence is available at Amazon.com, bn.com and directly from the publisher at JournalBuddies.com. There is a girls version, too!
