TVvoting.com provides an online Australian Idol tipping game

TVvoting.com provides one more outlet for passionate fans in 2007 by giving them an online Australian Idol tipping game, just like footy tipping. With each season, Australian Idol has had a phenomenal success with television audiences, which were growing from season to season.

The site was launched in January 2007 for American Idol and over 350 players were attracted by this game. In January 2007, the feedback from the TV voting’s American Idol Pool was fantastic. You and your group of friends can gather online at www.tvvoting.com and compete against each other to guess which Australian Idol contestant will be eliminated each week.

Tricia from El Dorado Hills, CA. said that TV voting is a terrific game: "My friends and I were already doing this on our own ... but TV voting made it so much easier by sending out all the reminders and standings. I also loved the comment area where we all got to put in our 2 cents. It was hilarious!" She continued exited by saying that it was an ingenious idea.

TVvoting.com now brings the game to Australian fans ready for the 2007 Idol season. Network Ten confirms that 35,000 fans tried out for Australian Idol at national auditions, showing a strong fan base already. The website automates everything including reminder emails to members, calculating scores, updating standings and sending out results emails to keep Australian Idol tipping fans involved.

TVvoting.com is the brainchild of Jeff Bonnes, a Melbourne-based Internet entrepreneur and founder of the leading babysitter and nanny introduction site www.findababysitter.com.au. The idea of this site came to Bonnes because his wife was involved in a similar email-based competition for Australian Idol last season. She enjoyed so much competing with friends, and found that the game brought out the comedian and critic in everyone.

“We’ve built the game on three pillars - first the growth of social networking sites, secondly interest in online tipping games and finally the continued strength of reality TV shows,” said Bonnes.

"We LOVED TVvoting.com! We are a family who often participates in 'fantasy' leagues - baseball, football, etc. It was so awesome to be able to apply that to our realty television habit. We had so much fun and it totally enhanced our enjoyment of viewing the show," affirmed Kristi from Windor, PA.

TVvoting.com is like footy tipping sites in that it takes away the time-consuming chore of sorting results and administering the competition. According to the owner of the website, Jeff Bones, this site is different from the other “ ‘ladders’ or communal online forums because groups of friends have their own private competition and comments page at TVvoting.com.” Bonnes also added that “colleagues, friends and family can enjoy online banter between themselves.”

Jeff Bonnes, the owner, concluded: “On a personal note we also felt there was a need for a game like TVvoting.com where friends and work mates can have some fun with reality shows. Australians love to have a laugh and a wager, so TV voting gives them an easy way to do this online!”
