The immediate availability of PC-Duo v11.1 with full compatibility for Microsoft Vista was announced today by Vector Networks. Beeing enhanced with particular emphasis on retaining PC-Duo's spectrum of security measures, the new version is available as PC-Duo™ Express and PC-Duo Enterprise.

Vector's VP Sales, Kevin Kiley, declared: "Although the Vista uptake is still at a very early stage, we have early adopter customers who have already standardized on Vista for any new desktop deployments". "It has been particularly important with this release to ensure that we support heterogeneous Windows environments, and that we achieve Vista compatibility with no sacrifices."

"Windows Vista rollouts are now being planned by many of our customers. PC-Duo is key to supporting the transition in what can be a tricky migration for end-users, and for reducing the overall stress of such a large rollout", saidBusiness Development Manager at Vector's exclusive EMEA partner Virtual Network Partners believes the UK and European market, Warren Free, to be keeping pace with the US on Vista adoption.

Several additional features are included in the new release:

    * Many-to-one Text Chat - A support technician can now hold a text mode conversation with any other technicians connected to that end-user's machine, along with the end-user on a remote PC.
    * File Transfer Resume - PC-Duo v11.1 introduces the ability to resume interrupted file transfers exactly from the point of interruption, when occasionally a file transfer operation is interrupted when a connection is lost.
    * Windows Media Format support - For play-back with PC-Duo Master, PC-Duo screen recording files are produced in a highly condensed, streamlined proprietary format. To enable technicians to convert PC-Duo screen recording files into Windows Media format for playback in WM-compatible players and editing in off-the-shelf media tools, PC-Duo v11.1 introduces a new utility.
