The leading provider of vendor-neutral certifications for the world’s technology workforce, The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), announced it will expand its CompTIA CTT+ certification to include a module for virtual classroom trainers.Giving candidates the option to be certified as a Classroom Trainer or Virtual Classroom Trainer, the CompTIA CTT+ virtual classroom trainer module is scheduled to launch in August.
Excellence in instruction is recognized by CompTIA CTT+ certification. It is a vendor-neutral certification that is applicable to training professionals in all industries. Instructors and trainers, with the new online trainer module, can prove their ability to train effectively in a virtual classroom environment using online collaboration tools such as Microsoft NetMeeting, Elluminate®, Adobe Acrobat® Connect™ Pro, and others.
CompTIA CTT+ candidates, currently, must pass two tests to earn the certification: a high-stakes computer-based test followed by a performance, video-based assessment.Candidates interested in earning the Classroom Trainer designation will continue to take the computer-based test and the performance, video-based assessment.
Candidates interested in the Virtual Classroom Trainer designation, beginning in August, will combine the computer-based exam with a recorded online training session assessment.
Instructors and trainers can earn both the Classroom Trainer and the Virtual Classroom Trainer designations by passing all three elements: the computer-based test, video-based assessment and online training assessment.Including preparation, presentation, communication, facilitation, and evaluation in a classroom environment, CompTIA CTT+ certification validates a trainer’s mastery of core instructor skills.
