Visual Database ITCPRo JAVA IBM RAD plug-in » read source
I Technologies Corp located in Hartford, CT, announced the release of ITCPRo a new JAVA IBM RAD plug-in, that further enhances the IBM Rational Application Development environment. ITCPro is a SQL centric ORM++ tool with a visual User Interface supporting drag and drop Object Relational Mapping from databases.
The product automates code generation with real-time testing to insure that the developers are getting the correct results ready for integration to an application. It extends the company's Open Source offering, ITCWorks release in June of 2006. ITCWorks is a feature rich Application Development Kit that goes far beyond the standard JDK and simplifies JAVA application development with a focus on database integration using XML.
ITCPro provides a single visual open database interface for Java Developers and Data Base Administrators using JDBC compliant databases like IBM's DB2/UDB and others. Before using ItcPro, you must setup the DatasourceDrivers.xml document and tell ItcPro where this document resides. The DatasourceDrivers.xml document contains the connection details to the database that you will be using. Please refer to the ItcWorksORM++. pdf document found in the ItcWorks project for a complete description of xml tags used to specify the JDBC connection parameters.
"ITCPro which incorporates ITCWorks open source application development kit integrates to IBM RAD adding significant value to the developer's working environment. Combined together they drastically reduce the manual coding required for database integration. It all translates to cost savings for the customer and rapid delivery of business software applications," states ITC's president, Steve Engman.
"ITCPro easily installed into my IBM RAD eclipse plug-in directory and allowed me to start generating my SQL and data value objects for a large database application I was developing that uses IBM's Universal DataBase. It also proved extremely helpful building and testing extracts from other vendor SQL databases required to load the application's IBM UDB database. In minutes I could validate the results to insure that I was getting the database results I needed. In minutes, I generated the XML SQL mapping documents and POJOs required for my Web application," states JAVA developer James Cefaratti.
ITCPro Futures: - One common Visual Interface to your SQL Databases - Visual Object Model (Drag & Drop) - ORM++ Query Builder Canvas - Fully functional split pane SQL Editor - Graphical viewer displays SQL results - Point and click Java code generation - Visual interface to ITC Works ORM++ - Build and test object graphs - Build complex custom queries
