LCD-based iPod remote producer Keyspan revealed a new black version of its "TuneView for iPod. The new black enclosure will be standard on all TuneView remotes beginning in May. The trendy sports looking design will also be available as an accessory for existing TuneView users.
"
Customers have told us that they love TuneView's ability to browse and manage an iPod throughout their house," said Keyspan president Mike Ridenhour. "However, many customers have said that they would favor a different look for the remote." Ridenhour explains that, "We tested several concepts in recent months and found that the black enclosure was a big hit."
"Unlike other iPod remotes, TuneView can be updated by connecting it to the USB port on a PC or Mac and loading new firmware onto the remote," explained Keyspan president Mike Ridenhour. "This provides a way to easily add new functionality to the remote."
Keyspan's TuneView iPod remote has been released to rave reviews in December 2006 at an MSRP of $179. Featuring a color LCD screen and 2-way RF connectivity that works through walls at distances of more than 30 meters, TuneView for iPod provides a easy way to browse and manage an iPod throughout the house. TuneView controls iPod music, videos and photos, and is compatible with 4G and 5G iPods with dock connectors including: iPod nano (2nd generation), iPod video, iPod nano (1st generation), iPod with color display and the iPod mini.
TuneView for iPod is available to US resellers via Ingram Micro, D&H and Wynit. It is available to consumers via the Keyspan store (www.keyspan.com), Amazon.com, MicroCenter, CompUSA.com and other consumer electronics resellers. Keyspan offers the industry's a large line of remote controls for the PC, Mac and iPod.
"There's more to come", noted Ridenhour. "We'll continue to enhance TuneView hardware and firmware to deliver a best-in-class remote control for iPod, iTunes and more."
